As a Rotary Peace Fellow, she had experienced firsthand the values, training, and opportunities that Rotary provides to individuals who are committed to advancing peace and resolving conflicts. She emphasised that Rotary’s approach to peace is holistic—it involves education, dialogue, community development, humanitarian action, and empowering people to become agents of positive change.

President Manoj Kr. Das began by recounting the club’s recent visit to the old age home, Amar Ghor. During the visit, two Rotarians—Rtn. S.R. Saikia and Rtn. Anjushree—made heartfelt cash contributions of ₹10,000 each to support the elderly residents. A major highlight of the evening was the deeply inspiring talk delivered by Ms. Priyanka Das, a distinguished professional, explorer, and global achiever. In her enriching presentation, she reflected on her academic, scientific, and artistic journey. She spoke about her association with the prestigious École Polytechnique, Paris, an institution that began admitting women only in 1972. Having been invited to the landmark 50th anniversary celebration of this milestone in 2022, she described the occasion as one of immense honour and pride.

The meeting primarily focused on the theme of spiritualism. The speaker, Dr. Khanikar, delivered an insightful talk on the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita and their relevance to modern-day life. He emphasized that the Gita provides timeless wisdom that can guide us in navigating the complexities of contemporary living. Dr. Khanikar highlighted that leading a disciplined life enables a person to endure both pain and pleasure with resilience and to build inner strength. He further stressed the importance of performing one’s duties with dedication but without attachment to results, thereby cultivating a balanced mind free from stress and anxiety. He also underlined that righteous conduct forms the foundation of harmonious living, helping individuals respect and live peacefully with one another, irrespective of religion or background.

ORIENTATION PROGRAMME

- Rotary Club of Guwahati organized a Club Orientation program at the Club premises. The Speakers were PDG Rtn Prabhat Kedia spoke about The Rotary Foundation and My Rotary World, Rtn Utpal Gohain on Rotary Opportunities and Effective Leadership Strategies, Rtn Manoj Das on attracting Members, Rtn Pranab Jyoti Sharma on Ethics and Vocational Service and on RLI, Rtn S.R.Saikia on ABC of Rotary. The program was designed for the new members who joined the Club this year i.e. after June 2025. The program started at 10 AM and end by 3 PM.
